Unfortunately the program is for Windows only I believe. No boot camp on your mac? Or a friend with a Windows PC you could use real quick only takes 10 minutes then you dont need a computer again. From my understanding, this root method does not unlock the bootloader, which means you do not void the warranty. My question is, what are the pros and cons of unlocking the bootloader, besides the fact that you void the warranty i dont really care about my warranty.

For those of you having issues with the update. Make sure your drivers in windows are setup correctly. Open up a CMD window in my directory. There is another method on XDA that just was written. Its an app for your phone that will root you but it is still being tested and does not unroot.

Hey when i download the net framework 4 setup it says blocking issues, You must install the bit Windows Imaging Component WIC before you run Setup…well when i go to download this it gives me a bunch of files.. My phone wont reboot into recovery mode, not sure why but ive followed all the steps above, any ideas? Are there any updated drivers for the Samsung? I found that the update. I tried to fix it by copying update. I waited for about 10 minutes and removed the battery. I was able to root my Captivate with no problem. The instructions are quite clear. I got the little Superuser Permission app icon.

How do I get rid of it for good? Also, is it safe to keep the phone rooted all the time? The best way to go is flash a custom recovery image then use it to flash a custom rom the custom roms have speed tweaks and crappy att apps removed etc. Unlike with root access on a regular linux system, we root and install a separate app called Superuser Permissions.

What that program does is notify you if anything asks for root access then you have to give it permissions to allow the app to use root otherwise it blocks it. So no worries about leaving it rooted. This sucks!!! It keeps telling me that the driver is unable to run on my pc. I have an updated windows vista pc and neither one of the drivers seem to work. Where do I go from here? Any suggestions? Rooting a TMobile Valiant. When I click the one click root button, I get an error message as follows: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. I used the Captivate rooter. Gave me the E: Signature verification failed installation aborted. I tried the Galaxy-S-one-click-root-all-models — same error. What did I do wrong? You are amazing thank you so much, was fastest root i have ever done, G1, Flipside, and Captivate are the 3 I have done, G1 took 3 hours, Flipside took 10 min, and this was done before your video was.

A week or so after rooting i noticed that my usb connection was a bit off. If i unplugged the charger, the battery icon would look like i was still charging the phone.

It would also look as if i was charging from my laptop if i was charging from a wall. Not sure if I should un-root the phone. Any suggestions. Does this work for the Samsung Galaxy Indulge R? Directions were easy to follow and videos helped worked great on my vibrant!! At least I think, I have the superuser icon but nothing comes up when I click on it, iis that how it is supposed to be? I now have the solution to all your problems… I have done it and it worked perfect on my Vibrant Now that I see this being written, let me say it too: Follow instructions at your own risk… Before I start let me explain some stuff I got to realize.

This is due to signature strictness in Froyo. I had to do it myself. Now this is what I did: 1. I used OCLF. After rooting your phone, delete some data from the system file to free up space. You can use any tool that you are comfortable with. I used RootExplorer. To do so, go to: a.
