Where is gryphon station

Despite the system's focus on serious scholastic pursuits, it has begun to gain a bit of notoriety for the unique community that has developed over the years.

Between the Army personnel stationed here to guard the system and the young grad students conducting research, the median age of the system's small population is well under thirty. It is no wonder that the habitation decks can get a bit raucous as researchers looking to blow off steam after days spent alone in remote obervational outposts and soldiers with extra energy after long shifts spent patrolling for trespassers meet for drinks and heated debates.

Toss into the mix a growing number of philosophers and spiritualists who have come seeking deeper truths about the universe's origins, and you can see why OB Station Gryphon is a destination that's not quite like anywhere else in the Empire.

Gryphon Sector is the main secret weapons research center for Microsol. It was long rumored to be an ordinary military station, but since the Not-so-Great Gryphon Explosion , Microsol has decided to let it remain in public knowledge. In fact, once a year, they invite members of competing industries to the Station to view how far behind they are in comparison to Microsol.

Still, the station has had it's share of hardships. Many pirates of both the Mikal and Patrok clans have long looked upon it as the pinnacle of their career if they can infiltrate the station's defenses and land a raiding party within the research section, then return with something from their weapons labs.

Most never even make it to the station, destroyed by the dreaded Pong Ships. One retired pirate of the Patrok clan, one ShipMaster Carlos , wrote a book detailing highlights of his extensive career.

One of which was the infiltration and removal of a weapon now commonly referred to as the Zica Laser Cannon. For example, one runs around the bonfire in the square in a circle.

You don't have to be on the ground but you do have to be stationary for the pick up to work. Hope this helps someone. Comment by FuxieDK This quest is bloody annoying.. On top of this, you have to fly round for minutes just to find a villager to pick up.. Comment by FuxieDK Skip this quest honestly until they make it less retarded then what it is. Comment by svirve This quest is undoubtedly bugged. I found some few easy ways to counter-act the bugs. To prevent the NPCs from not mounting your gryphon make sure they do not run out of range before you finish the cast.

I would regularly have the mobs fall through my gryphon, then I started cutting ahead of them making sure they were in range for the duration of the cast, problem fixed, no more falling-through-mount-NPCs. I never had the gryphon spontaneously die on me, however I noticed that the boundary limit is quite stupid. Make sure you always fly straight for the quest giver after you've picked up the NPC. This way i would randomly get the boundary warning but never lose my mount.

I also never encountered the NPCs refusing to dismount, however it's possible to dismount and get a new mount if you have an NPC with you, i suggest doing so. I was able to complete the quest in under 10 minutes this way. Skipping this quest is not a good idea, for one it leads to a great quest chain as mentioned above and it is the pre-requisite for pretty much every quest in Wintergarde Keep. Comment by Xanker The 'Grab my hand! Nice quotes in this quest. Comment by Irishwhiskey pretty much worst quest ever Comment by This is one of those frustrating but necessary quests; as others mentioned once you complete this quest it opens up others.

This is how it worked for me - I targeted the running villager by left clicking on them, hovered over the area until I figured out their "running path" landed in front of them then clicked the board passenger icon, when I came back I "left clicked" the NCP to turn in I was not taking a chance that I would not get credit as it was a pain in the backside to get the "running villager" in the first place.

All the things others mentioned as bugs happened and I would get an "out of range" message if I was not on the ground to pick them up. It is possible that the life bar of the Gryphon ran out which is why we got dumped in a mob..

Just saying - I was not concentrating on my Gryphon's life bar so much as trying to get the "running villager" to stop long enough to hop on before being attacked by the mob chasing them. I hated this quest! Just saying Comment by Try holding your button for jump when they try to get on. They jump a mile. Comment by auslanderplates Extremely annoying. One of the worst quests ever. Comment by Aradroth God I hate this quest, just did it for like the 5th time today on my hunter.

Saving 1 person is bad enough but going back and fourth to save 10 people is waaaay too annoying, they should just drop it down to 5 people. Comment by This was a fun quest, just remember to stop to pick up the feared villagers, and hit three constantly if your impatient like me!

It takes a while, but I hate grinding on mobs all the time, so even quests that are a little long are a good break from the monotony. Like a white knight you flew in from the heavens and lifted me from the pit of damnation! Comment by Nozzivix says: come with me if you want to live. Comment by ziggy29 I floundered with this one at first, but once I made a note of where I was and where I needed to go, it was a lot easier though 10 times is overkill for a quest like this; times would have made more sense.

The quest begins at the gryphon station at 77,50 - remember those coords since that's where you need to go to return the villagers to safety. Fly due east to around 85,50 and look around, panning around a little above the ground looking for running villagers. Find one, pick it up, fly back to 77,50 and drop it off, lather, rinse, repeat. Comment by The advice I followed was to observe the running pattern of the villagers thanks Glamborn! They usually run around buildings, camp fires, along a certain path etc.

The villagers never stray off their path. You'll notice that at some point along their path the villager and the mobs spread out, giving you enough space to get as low as possible and pick them up without aggroing the mobs.

I also noticed that once the "pick up" option completes channeling I could start lifting off slowly and the villagers would hop on even though I was higher. Also I would go for the villagers along the perimeter of the Carrion Feilds, there's much more space, it's a little hectic in the middle. I completed it yesterday, no bugs, no villagers disappearing on me, no glitch at the drop off.

It will take some time to complete but unfortunately it's a must-do! Hope this helped! I tried doing it today and no matter what I did, nothing would work.

I couldn't dismount, even if I abandoned the quest. I couldn't pick up villagers. When I actually could, half of the time, I'd go back to drop them off and there wouldn't be anyone around and it would tell me, "You can't do that while moving.

I did everything I could think of. Even a guildie joined in with me and experienced the same problems. I submitted a ticket. Comment by they still have not fixed this quest, and it is still a major pain. Comment by Zgred2 This quest was positively bugged for me in 4. I wrote a ticket and got a response from a GM that there's currently a bug with vehicles that don't belong to the player, and until it gets fixed, he proposed the following fix, which I did and it worked perfectly: 1 Backup your Interface and WTF folders somewhere else 2 Delete your Cache, Interface and WTF folders naturally keep those backups you just made!

After that and you log in into the game and make sure everything is back to the way it was, you can delete the backups or do whatever you want with them Cheers to the Silvermoon EU GM's, this quest needs fixing fast. Comment by zopa34 Really annoying quest,10 people are too much. Comment by This quest was fun for the first three or so pickups. After that I wanted to eat my eyeballs. Comment by It seems to me that you can only haul one person at a time.. This is really time consuming, and that you get no error message just that you are not close enough is kind of silly..

Comment by "My shop's doors will always be open to you, friend. Way to go, Blizzard. Comment by FuryWar After being very frustrated with trying to save the villagers without getting mobbed by the undead, I finally discovered that you do NOT need to land to grab them! It went much more smoothly once I began flying low and hovering to pull them on my gryphon!

Comment by gtadem As of patch 4. Good news considering that the quest is SO tedious, but unlocks a lot of quests. Comment by wpken Maybe you guys could help me. I was doing this quest on my third time and all of those Hungering Dead that are chasing the helpess villagers were marked as "friendly" npcs. Now despite their nameplates saying they were friendly, they most certainly were not.

They would still attack me, and the only thing i could do was run away because hey, they're friendly and "I can't attack that target. Comment by I was not happy with this quest. C'mon Blizz, I got a rep to protect. Comment by lionsofmercy Maybe it was just me, but if not, here are some clues for the Easily Confused: I kept getting disoriented flying around trying to chase villagers-and then because I'm special I had a hard time getting back to the Keep without going out of bounds.

Answer: Don't go nuts chasing villagers around. I found that they run toward the statue for paternal reassurance. Then turn around, fly up the hill through the broken gate; bear right and keep going up the hill through the intact gate into the Keep.

Go left and then take your first right. The flightmaster is at 77, Comment by And for the sake of making this quest 3 times faster, use the soar ability constantly. Comment by MurdokTKD Ok guys, this quest are bugged, because i do this quest in same place, with same villager, the only thing i did was: Stay near a trapped villager Press the 1 bottom Press the 2 bottom and do this 10 times, and its finish.

Comment by Slan Ignore the lame comments above. This is a horrible quest, it's terribly confusing per Blizzard usual, the pick up button does not work, it just tells you you can't do it while mounted.

Epic fail from a company where epic fail has sadly become the standard operating procedure. Comment by StarFire If your having issues picking up villagers select them first then hit 1. Also stop moving dont chase the villager. Comment by downtide66 This one frustrated the heck out of me until I realised you don't actually have to land.

Just hover in front of them and pick them up as they run past. Comment by Kasstarix At level , just did this quest for the first time.

It was extremely easy. Just park a little ways in front of where the villager is running and spam 1 until it sticks. Rinse and repeat. Flight of the Wintergarde Defender.

We can get this keep back into working order now with the return of our citizens. IsQuestFlaggedCompleted Please keep the following in mind when posting a comment: Your comment must be in English or it will be removed.
