The way the road curves will tell you the new direction. Instead, you have to observe changes over time. The Connected article Sun, wind or rain? Clouds and the weather observes cloud types and how they help predict the weather.
Precipitation and cloud formation uses a slide show to help explain cloud and precipitation processes. Explore the site for voyage tracking maps, learning journeys, videos, teaching activities and more related to the art and science of Polynesian voyaging. It was founded by a young student who preferred to stare out the window rather than pay attention in class. Download a Clouds or wind poster from the MetService.

Wiki User. A falling pressure on the barometer indicates bad weather approaching, especially if falling rapidly. Usually dark clouds.
A high z-score indicates an observation that is further away from the mean. This indicates that either the observation is less probable or that assumptions about the distribution are wrong.
If it is mixed well. Generally means that rain could be approaching. Rain Alarm is an app that warns you against approaching rain or snow. The weather app uses a silent alarm to warn you. A qualitative observation merely indicates that the subject possesses a certain quality, for example "this water is salty".
It does not have a nucleus. All teams have access to a live weather radar and hence can predict when rain is approaching the circuit. It indicates rain. A sign that foul weather is approaching on a boat could be rolling thunder or darkening clouds. Another sign might be the waves picking up and getting bigger.
Rain Alarm is an application that you can use to help plan your day so that it isn't ruined by the weather. Rain Alarm tells you when rain is approaching your area, so you have advanced warning and can change plans before the rain hits.
Observe speed limits, slow down and be prepared to stop, if necessary. Give right of way to pedestrians and to traffic approaching from the right unless signage indicates otherwise. Yes, probably.
Tube- collects rain, Markings-indicates amount of rain falling. When the test tube is cold. Usually on boats they have a barometer, and when the barometer begins to fall it indicates that bad weather is approaching.
They also have computers on board which can access satellite data and marine forecasts. When out on a lake or ocean, changes in wind patterns are usually the first indication bad weather is on the way.
Clouds may also quickly increase. The winds will pick up, the sky will darken and the waves will get choppy. It is best to head in when this is occurring. Log in. This is common in the summer, with morning Cumulus developing into deep Cumulonimbus thunderstorm clouds in the afternoon.
Near the ground, Cumulonimbus are well defined, but higher up they start to look wispy at the edges. This transition indicates that the cloud is no longer made of water droplets, but ice crystals. When gusts of wind blow water droplets outside the cloud, they rapidly evaporate in the drier environment, giving water clouds a very sharp edge. On the other hand, ice crystals carried outside the cloud do not quickly evaporate, giving a wispy appearance.
Cumulonimbus are often flat-topped. Within the Cumulonimbus, warm air rises by convection. In doing so, it gradually cools until it is the same temperature as the surrounding atmosphere. At this level, the air is no longer buoyant so cannot rise further. Instead it spreads out, forming a characteristic anvil shape. Cirrus form very high in the atmosphere. They are wispy, being composed entirely of ice crystals falling through the atmosphere.
If Cirrus are carried horizontally by winds moving at different speeds, they take a characteristic hooked shape. Only at very high altitudes or latitudes do Cirrus produce rain at ground level. But if you notice that Cirrus begins to cover more of the sky, and gets lower and thicker, this is a good indication that a warm front is approaching.
In a warm front, a warm and a cold air mass meet. The lighter warm air is forced to rise over the cold air mass, leading to cloud formation.
